Newsletter--October 23, 2018

Instead of a regular alumni newsletter, I will be sharing with you some really exciting updates and ways for alumni to stay involved with THON! This year, THON is expanding and allowing alumni, parents, and supporters of THON (basically everyone except students) to fundraise on behalf of THON through THON Nation and Inspire5.

What is THON Nation?

THON Nation is a fundraising effort which allows anyone to host online fundraisers, similar to DonorDrive fundraisers, to benefit THON. Alumni organizations, friends of THON, Four Diamonds families, and individuals can fundraise through THON Nation in a variety of different ways. Some different fundraising ideas for your own THON Nation fundraiser could include:

- Personal Milestones like birthdays, weddings, etc.

- Tribute funds honoring the memory of a loved one

- Other personal fundraisers ranging from Penn State Football watch parties to large-scale galas!

These events are super easy to host and can make a huge impact in the life of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. To find out more detailed information about THON Nation and how to apply for a fundraiser, visit thon.org/thon-nation. Also, you can credit our organization (Oriana Singers-134 and Glee Club-135) when filling out the request for a fundraiser. What is Inspire5?

Inspire5 is a way for alumni to continue raising money for THON after graduation by sending out pre-made mail solicitations (similar to THONvelopes!). To participate, go to https://think.thon.org/ext/inspire5/, fill out the form, and request 5 or more mail solicitation envelopes, which THON will send to you for free. Then, just put together the envelopes and send to addresses of your choosing! You can also credit our org (Oriana Singers-134 and Glee Club-135) when you are requesting the mail solicitation materials! Again, feel free to let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions!
